Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 days 3 nights, is one of the most famous trekking routes in Peru and South America, has a distance of 43 km.

Description

Day 1: We will start with the pick up from the hotel at 4:00 a.m., first we will go to Ollantaytambo, where we will have breakfast, then we will continue until km 82 Piscacucho (2700 m.a.s.l.) place where is the first control, after about 2 hours of walking we will arrive to Llaqtapata (2750 masl) Inca archaeological site that will be explained by our guide. After our visit, we will have lunch prepared by our experienced cook and his team, after lunch we will continue with our hike to our camp Ayapata (3000 m.a.s.l.), where after settling in the camp you can relax and have a well deserved rest, in the evening you will have dinner and then spend the night. Day 2: In the morning after our delicious breakfast we will continue with the hike and begin to ascend slightly for 9 km (4 hrs) towards the Warmiwañusca pass (4215 masl). After lunch we will ascend to the second highest point of the Inca Trail, it is a stretch with stairs that makes it even heavier but not impossible, it is recommended to do it without haste at the pace of each one without concern, after reaching the highest point (Runkurakay), After reaching the highest point (Runkurakay), we will begin to descend also by stone steps in this section you can appreciate a variety of flora and fauna where you will have stunning views that make this unique Inca Trail, after two hours of walking we will arrive at our second day of camping Chaquicocha (3600 masl) we will have dinner and then spend the night in that place. Day 3: After a delicious breakfast, on this day we will have a 15 km trek, with great vegetation and archaeological sites; we continue to Chaquicocha during the hike we will be able to see the Salkantay mountain and an impressive view of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba. Later we will have the view of the Phuyupatamarka peak (3600 meters which means place above the clouds), in the route we will pass inside a tunnel carved in rock and we will continue towards Wiñayhuayna another wonderful complex where we will spend the night, the journey is 6 hours full of beautiful landscapes and vegetation. Day 4: Earlier than usual (3:30 a.m.), after breakfast we will continue the trekking towards Machu Picchu, we will pass through the last control and continue to the Inti Punku (sun gate), from here you will start to have incredible views of the majesty of the citadel of Machu Picchu, then you will have your guided tour of the place full of history, along with the guide will tour the most important sites of the ancient Inca city for two hours approx. After finishing the tour you will have free time to take pictures, then return to Machu Picchu town where we will have lunch and finally board the train to return to Ollantaytambo where our mobility will be waiting for your pick up for the subsequent transfer to the city of Cusco.
