We welcome you to the first collaborative event with the NGO educate. and the UNICEF Student Team Amsterdam! We are screening the powerful movie Girl Rising and then inviting you to discuss the movie and ask representatives from our groups any questions.

Girl Rising is a documentary film by Richard Robbins, published in 2013. This film shows the life of 9 girls from Ethiopia, Egypt, India, Peru, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Haiti, and Nepal. Each of them faces significant obstacles and injustices in their quest of finding an education. Their aim is to receive education to make a real change and break cultural barriers. Each of the girls’ stories has been written by a native writer to better grasp each country’s culture. Despite the heartbreaking injustices that they face, this movie offers hope and inspiration.
