Description

On the first day, the trek starts with a 4:00 AM pickup in Cusco, followed by a scenic car ride to Mollepata for breakfast. Afterward, the journey continues to Challancha, the starting point of the trek. The hike to Soraypampa includes a stop at Humantay Lake, known for its stunning blue-green waters. The night is spent at the Sky Camp of Soraypampa in glass igloos. The second day begins with an early hike to the Salkantay Pass, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Afterward, the trail descends to Huayracmachay for lunch and continues through a tropical zone known as 'cloud forest' to Chaullay, where the night is spent in Andean cabins. Day three starts with a hike to La Playa, crossing the Santa Teresa Valley and experiencing different ecosystems along the way. The night is spent in Jungle Domes in Lucmabamba, surrounded by coffee and avocado plantations. The fourth day includes a visit to the Llactapata Archaeological Center and a descent to Intiwatana, an ancient rock used as a sundial in Inca times. The day ends in Aguas Calientes, where the group stays in a family-run hostel. The fifth and final day begins early with a visit to Machu Picchu, followed by free time to explore the site. The tour concludes with a return to Cusco City by train and minibus.
