A reservation at 7:30 should mean something. Arriving five minutes early, I was instead informed the restaurant was, inexplicably, closed, and left standing while guests arriving after me were shown to their tables ahead of me. When I was eventually seated, it was at the rear of the room, at the furthest possible remove from the room's energy. A small detail, perhaps, but service begins long before the first course arrives, and this was not a promising overture. The meal itself continued the theme of good intentions poorly executed. A Mediterranean salad and a dish of organic chicken were ordered; both arrived simultaneously, crowding a table already too modest for the purpose, the salad having skipped its rightful role as prelude entirely. Told that this was simply how it's done here, I could only conclude that whoever set that standard has not eaten in many restaurants. Sequence and pacing are not decorative, they are the architecture of a meal, and here that architecture was absent. The salad, billed as Mediterranean, bore only a nominal relationship to the category, over-sauced to the point that whatever vegetal freshness it may have possessed was entirely obscured. The chicken fared better, if modestly: a competent breast, accompanied by a purée and two baby carrots so reduced in scale as to feel almost symbolic, a far cry from the dish described on the menu. What emerged over the course of the evening was a restaurant more concerned with the appearance of sophistication than its substance, the trappings of hospitality without its instinct. Real hospitality is not a performance; it is a form of attention, and attention was precisely what was missing here. I won't be returning.
We ate here in Lima a month ago. The service was impeccable. They treated us with such great respect. It was very convenient with the outside doorbell they place on the table. They also gave me a free French fry appetizer. I felt very welcomed.
Wow! The meat here is something else altogether. Personally I don't eat at restaurants of this price point often, but for our special occasion it was fantastic!! The only negative was that the selection of wines by the glass was not very good. We tried and passed on one and the other we chose also wasn't that great. By the bottle they have a massive selection but we didn't want that much.
Upscale steak house in the heart of Miraflores, right next to Huaca Pucllana. This is the place for prime cuts if you’re looking to splurge while in Lima. I had the boneless ribeye (500g), which was well marbled and cooked perfectly. On the side a cup of truffle fries created the perfect accompaniment to the meal. A glass of Malbec blended well with the meal. After filling up on everything, I was too full to enjoy dessert but the mini treats as the check arrived were the perfect sweet treat. Overall this is a great dining experience to enjoy your favorite steak… pro-tip: the truffle fried blend perfectly with the goat cheese spread that is served with the bread plate!
Outstanding steak house in Lima. One of the best I’ve ever been globally . USDA prime rib and dry aged were tender and incredible. Staff check gluten free options and I couldn had the smashed potato. Asparagus and fries were great as side
