Our dinner at Osaka was hands down one of the best meals we had in Peru. The Japanese influence could be felt in every ingredient and every dish, while still beautifully incorporating Peruvian flavors and techniques. Everything felt incredibly balanced, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Christopher, our server, made the experience even better. He recommended an excellent variety of dishes that made the meal feel complete and balanced from beginning to end. Honestly, there was not a single dish I didn’t enjoy. Every course complemented the next perfectly, and you could really tell how intentional the menu and flavor combinations were. One of the most memorable touches was the hospitality. The entire restaurant pauses to welcome guests as they enter and walk down the stairs, which immediately makes the experience feel warm, elevated, and special. Combined with the beautiful atmosphere and outstanding service, Osaka completely lived up to the hype. There is also an amazing speakeasy hidden behind the host stand through a secret door that is absolutely worth visiting for after-dinner drinks. Even better, if you are unable to get a reservation at Osaka or do not want to wait for a table, the speakeasy serves some of Osaka’s best and most popular dishes along with great cocktails. It makes for the perfect alternative or extension to the experience. This is absolutely a place I will return to in the future. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere, the entire experience felt memorable from beginning to end. I would highly recommend Osaka to anyone visiting Lima looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

My experience at Osaka Lima was unfortunately just okay, maybe because I went in with very high expectations after hearing so many great things. My husband and I love sushi and have been lucky enough to visit Japan a few times, so we were really excited for the experience. The evening started off a bit awkwardly when we were moved from seats I reserved to the bar because the guest next to us wasn’t feeling well. While I understand these things happen, it already set a strange tone for the night. Our waiter suggested that he choose some of the restaurant’s best dishes for us, which we agreed to. The nigiris were good, but not quite as impressive as I was expecting. Then the octopus dish arrived, and unfortunately it was chewy and disappointing. At that point, my husband and I decided not to continue ordering more dishes. The last roll we received was actually very good, but by then the experience had already fallen flat for us. The manager did come over while we were waiting for our final dish and offered to move us, but we were already almost finished eating so there wasn’t much point. He apologized for the inconvenience and mentioned that for our 10th anniversary he would offer us dessert and try to arrange reservations at the bar in the same building. Honestly, we weren’t interested in that and would have appreciated complimentary drinks instead, which I did mention, but that wasn’t offered. The highlight of the night was definitely the bartender, Diego. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel a little better about the overall experience. Thank you, Diego. I do want to say that the restaurant itself is beautiful and I really loved the modern decor and ambiance. Maybe it was just an off night for us, which was especially unfortunate since we were celebrating our anniversary. Despite leaving disappointed with the dining experience overall, I would still consider giving Osaka another try in the future if we visit Lima again, and hopefully next time the experience will be better.

For me the best Nikkei restaurant in Lima. Extraordinary amazing food, attentive and fast service, great ambience…. You have everything you need to enjoy and amazing time. All the nigiri’s are perfectly balanced with sweet tasty flavours. Also they have a speak easy bar to have drinks with amazing cocktails and some bites.

I would say everything here is great! One of the best fusion restaurant in South America. I have to say it’s a bit more salty and sweet compare to the usual Chinese palette. It’s hard to pick one favorite dish but memorable dishes include the wagu nigiri, squid ink noodles, octopus with smashed potato and the Inca ribs. I would say most of the dishes is more delicious than the menu described. It’s a great place and worth coming back to try another few times.

Everything was very fresh and the lemongrass ice cream dessert was great! However, nothing really stood out in terms of flavour profile and the salmon crispy rice was very one dimensional. I think there are very comparable places in Lima where you can get similar dishes (nikkei style nigiris, tiraditos, etc) for a lower price. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but for the price point I wasn’t particularly impressed. Nice atmosphere though and service was great! Also easy to make a reservation - we booked about a day in advance.
