After being picked up from your hotel in Lima, travel to the north coast of Peru, which is known for its amazing archaeological complexes; evidence of the fascinating history of the country and South America. The remains of Caral will show you the history and culture of the oldest civilization in America. Arrive at the exceptionally well-preserved site, which is impressive in terms of its design and the complexity of it's architecture. As you explore, find great pyramids, squares, atriums, and altars where different sacred ceremonies and offerings to gods were performed. Marvel at the quipu (the knot system used in Andean civilizations to record information) found on the site which testifies to the development and complexity of Caral society. After your visit to the archaeological complex, go to the city of Huacho to see the Pittaluga House, the University Archaeological Museum, and the Malecón Playa Chorrillos.
