HAPYA Peruvian Food Experience
Peru
Reviews
This was our favourite restaurant of our 6 week trip in South America. The setting, service and food were all amazing. We had the skewers which included beef, chicken and alpaca ( which was our favourite) and the lamb shank. Both were next level. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Prices were also very reasonable
One of the most extraordinary culinary experiences ever. Don’t walk to Hapya—run, but you will be breathless because of the altitude. And then breathless at the end of an extraordinary meal! The food was fresh and sublime— locally sourced including in their own gardens and affiliated farmers. Everything was perfectly prepared from the prawn appetizer, the cui (traditional Guinea pig), slow roasted pork, local alpaca, aji de gallina, and delicious dessert plus their own blend of a traditional relaxing tea. Oh, try the unique Hapya sour. Miguel was attentive and knowledgeable. The prices are a bit higher than other spots in Cusco but what we paid for unique, delicious fine dining was the same or less for an average restaurant back in Canada. And sooo much better. 100% worth it. This isn’t rated the #1 restaurant in Cusco for nothing. Do yourself a favour when visiting and treat yourself to this amazing dining experience. You will be thankful. A+++
This restaurant was the most amazing culinary experience we’ve had in Peru! Every single dish was incredible, surpassed all our expectations, and our server Miguel was amazing. He guided us through the entire menu offering explanations and recommendations and phenomenal service through each course. We tried a bunch of typical Andes peruvian dishes and were not disappointed, like alpaca, cuy, a typical wedding meal, amazon shrimp appetizer and much more. Extremely affordable for the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. Wish I had more time in Cusco to come back here !
We stumbled upon this hidden gem! OMG this place is amazing and a MUST to dine when in Cusco. The owner was a former chef at Maido (#1 restaurant in the world). The service was more than exceptional, it was an experience. Miguel, our server enriched us with education of the building and the food and beverage being served. I’m well traveled and super picky about food and drinks and all were top notch as if we were at a Michelin 5 star but with a relaxed setting that is perfect for couples or families. Definitely go check this place out.
We had amazing service and all the food was cooked to perfection! We had the ceviche, tacos, lamb shank, and homemade mango soda. Everything is made from scratch including the tortillas and starter bread. The quality and freshness of the food is amazing for the price and the historic building is really cool!
