Vicabamba mountain range

Located between the Urubamba and Apurímac Rivers, the mountain range stretches over 100 km (62 miles). The snow-capped peaks of Salkantay and Huamantay, standing at over 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) tall, are incredible. The abrupt geography of the range is divided by beautiful canyons and covers the Ampay National Sanctuary, a refuge for an extensive variety of flora and fauna.

Lima Provinces: Lurin, Mala and Lunahuana

Mountain bikers have found in the coastal valleys a natural setting for their pursuit and can enjoy the countryside, rivers, woods, paths and slopes of the arid hills in this area. Very close to Lima in the southern valleys like Lurin, Mala and Cañete, there are various trails that include those valleys as well as visiting archaeological sites including Pachacamac and Incawasi in Lunahuana.

Vilcanota mountain range

Located between the Vilcanota, Paucartambo and Madre de Dios Rivers, the range includes mountains like Ausangate (6,384 meters - 20,945 feet), Mariposa, Cayangate, Wakay Willca (or Verónica) Chicón and Pitusiray, which is over 5,500 m.a.s.l. (18,044 f.a.s.l.).

Volcanic Range

Kayak - Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon) and Lago Lindo (Lake Lindo)

After traveling for a little over 30 km from Tarapoto, one arrives at Puerto Suárez and crosses Huallaga River, from where it is just 18 km to the Blue Lagoon. After reaching the southern shore by boat (20 minutes) or on foot (2 hours) is Lago Lindo (Lake Lindo), a private nature reserve, is located toward the southern shore.

Ancash: Cordillera Blanca and Conchucos

One of the most attractive roads in Peru, the Callejon de Huaylas conceals numerous cycling trails of great beauty and difficulty among its cliffs and mountains. Most of the trails reach great heights (over 3,500 m.a.s.l.) before descending with sharp drops.

The river is included in the world rafting list due to its great depth and its rapids. It starts at approximately 2 700 m.a.s.l. (8 858 f.a.s.l.) at Cúnyac bridge, close to Mollepata (Anta), and descends through incredible landscapes and canyons with depths of over 3,000 meters (9,800 feet)

Rafting - Tambopata River

This is the most spectacular route in Peru. It begins in Putina Punku (900 masl), Puno, and descends through tropical forests until it reaches the Madre de Dios Amazonian plains (200 masl), before flowing through the Bahuaja Sonene National Park and the Tambopata National Reserve

Inti Raymi

Inti Raymi, which when translated from Quechua means "Fiesta del Sol" (Sun Festival) is one of the most important festivals of the imperial city of Cusco. This marvelous spectacle which takes place on the Sacsayhuaman esplanade is celebrated every June 24th and is meant to pay homage to the Sun god, a supreme symbol of worship in Inca culture.
